Please join FWAPA to hear from Dr. Joseph J Amato, Ph.D., a past Roman Catholic Priest and previous Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the VA Health Care Systems in the Greater New York Metropolitan area. He will share a relevant case study with outcome data, as well as protective and risk factors for suicide regarding local relevant populations.

 


Objectives:  

  1. Recognize repeated patterns of compulsion in the face of trauma
  1. Develop familiarity with aspects of religious practice that maybe healthy or harmful.
  1. Recognize the empathic failure which may occur in psychodynamic treatment,
  1. Understand how religious practice may be a protective against suicide risk that is underutilized.


Location: The comfort of your home or office or at UNTHSC EAD Bldg Rm: 406

Method: You will be sent instructions and a link to connect to the meeting by the morning of July 8th, 2022 prior to the event should you choose not to attend in person

Continuing Education: Hours awarded will be determined by how long you stay connected to the meeting.


Certificates will be e-mailed to participants for those choosing not to attend in person
