Objectives

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

• Determine what symptoms present in Major Depressive Disorder and what symptoms reflect Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD)
• Analyze hypothesized causes of this life disease and articulate the burden for patients who present with TRD
• Articulate the newest innovations for treatment of TRD, including but not limited to:
• • Medication; monodrugs and augmented drugs (When do I change medicine or augment/increase the dose?)
  • Ketamine for TRD
  • Trans-Cranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Non-Invasive Treatment for TRD
  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) - Talk Therapy
  • Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)
  • ECT Electro-Convulsive Therapy
  • Others
