Working with ADHD often means navigating challenging assessment decisions, reading endless heated clinical debates, and managing administrative realities that can influence the success or failure of a clinic. What do referral sources actually expect? Is ADHD testing medically necessary? If so, how comprehensive should an ADHD assessment be? And what is the final word on CPTs? Why aren’t we open to more nuanced consideration of these topics?

This broad discussion addresses topics related to clinical decision-making (targeted vs. comprehensive evaluations, common rule-outs, validity testing, and the role of CPTs), assessment logistics (use of psychometrists and remote ADHD testing), administrative realities (marketing, referrals, and medical necessity), and treatment translation (recommendations, accommodations, and medication considerations).

Speakers bring complementary perspectives from psychological and neurodevelopmental testing, law and ethics, practice management, entrepreneurship, and treatment to including prescribing psychology. The goal is not to present a single “correct” model of ADHD practice, but rather to explore the debates, frameworks, and administrative realities that shape how clinicians evaluate and treat ADHD in modern practice.
